Circuitos
Ciência Viva
A website I developed for Circuitos Ciência Viva,
a scientific tourism program
that invites people to discover Portugal
through themed routes, which combine science and
culture,
using the Ciência Viva Centers as starting points.
MY ROLE
Front-end development, part of Web Design
MY RESPONSIBILITIES
HTML, CSS, Responsive Web Design, Cross-Browser Compatibility, Debugging, Web Design

(Currently in the back-end development phase)
The Challenge
This website was created to replace the current Circuito's website. The old (and for now, current)
site was a bit "outdated," and we were asked to give it a fresh look and feel. The result is a
clean, soft layout that still maintains the dynamic and animated style known from Circuitos Ciência
Viva.
This was officially my first major project. It was with this website that I learned to
write HTML and CSS.
I received this project when I was hired by Ciência Viva. At the time,
part of the layout had already been designed by another web designer colleague, and I just had to
complete the rest of the layout and recreate it in HTML and CSS. It was a challenge in that sense,
as I didn't have any programming training or knowledge at the time. I built the site as I was
learning HTML and CSS.
After the site was done, we needed to create more pages beyond the
ones already designed. I was the one who designed these new pages and also adjusted the layout of
the pages that my colleague had previously created to better align with the client's
requests.
In the end, it was my "baby"—my first project as a front-end developer with touches
of web design, and for that reason, it has a special place in my heart.
It's a website with
light animations and a modern, clean layout, as well as a very simple yet attractive color palette.

Nowadays
This project is currently in the back-end programming phase, and I believe it will go live later this year (2025). Until then, you can check out the old website, and then marvel at my first major project as a web designer and front-end developer.
